Are you interested in improving your quality of life and wellbeing? I know I’m always looking at ways to better mine and my families life and so I thought I’d write a post today to help you look at ways you could improve yours or tackle some of the issues you may be facing to help you feel happier. By dealing with some of these problems, you may even find you get far less fomo and actually start enjoying things a lot more too!
Anxiety is one that has riddled me for years. It can even stop me doing simple things like going to a party with friends or attending appointments or meetings that would benefit my life more. You might also find that you are struggling with an issue like anxiety too and not even realising it. Anxiety can be a problem that you’re not even aware of – in fact so many people nowadays suffer with some kind of anxiety that it can be confusing as to what is a ‘normal’ feeling or nerves or feeling anxious. I personally suffer with anxiety pretty badly in some areas. In some ways it’s full stopped me from taking on opportunities that I otherwise would have been fine with. Coming to terms with your anxieties and getting help is one of the best things you can do. It’s normal to not always feel so secure with things. Often, if you have issues with anxiety, then your main focus should be on finding ways to calm your mind first so that later down the line, you’re not as crippled by the feelings of unease and the opportunities you would have once passed up (like I have) will be once you’re now able to handle with ease. Hey even the heart palpitations and sweaty palms may become a thing of the past!
You might also suffer with and want to tackle any issues with stress that you may have. A lot of people assume that stress is a natural part of life, but that’s not the case. If you’re struggling with too much stress in life, then you are more likely to develop health issues. There are some studies that suggest stress is even linked with the development of certain cancers (how scary is that?!). If you’re struggling with high levels of stress, then you might want to think about trying meditation or another type or relaxation. Meditating will help you clear your mind and can be beneficial for achieving greater goals in your life. Many stresses in our lives aren’t even worth it and although the world isn’t the best place right now for unwanted stresses or anxieties, you are able to take your relaxation techniques into your own hands. Take time for yourself, keep active and most importantly, make sure you do not isolate yourself.
It’s possible (especially at the moment) that your quality of life is impacted by your financial situation. Perhaps you are trying to live with a limited income or have been furloughed from your job during the Pandemic. Whatever the situation, money can have a massive impact on your quality of life. I’ve got a post coming soon on how to boost your income (keep an eye out for that) but with the right ideas or with the right side hustles, there are more than one way to give your income a boost at the moment. For now though, one idea is to use this uncertain time to re-train or learn a new skill. For instance, if you love fitness like me, you could look into training to become a personal trainer in your spare time (which could potentially turn into a full time career in the future). It’s honestly something I’ve been thinking of for a while now .
It’s possible that you are suffering from either chronic pain or a long term injury or a new kind of ‘sitting-on-your-sofa-to-work’ position which could be causing you new pains you’ve never experienced before. In either case, this could be negatively impacting your quality of life. It could stop you from working out which can lead to more health issues or, it could simply prevent you from enjoying different aspects of your life such as travel (when we can again obviously). There are a few ways to deal with this problem. For instance, you could think about pursuing legal support. This can help you claim damages that will help you with your financial situation caused by the pain. However, you do have to know your legal rights. For instance, the statute of limitations in the federal tort claims act could prevent you from claiming damages against the government in the US after a certain period. Who knew that was even a thing?!
Feeling like you always have little to no time will put a massive stress on your life. I know between work, my side hustles, blog and my daughter, I always feel like I’m running around like a headless chicken. To settle this I like to try and plan my time a little and thus waste less time scrolling or doing things that aren’t productive. I use a planner or a diary to block in certain aspects (even such as 30 min speed kitchen clean’ to limit my time doing tasks so that I can actually sit down and have some me time on the weekend or of an evening! Since doing this I definitely feel less like i’m in the hamster wheel and more like I’ve got my life on track! It’s definitely given me a better quality of life in these strange times!
