June 17th this year marks Steve’s first Father’s Day as a Daddy and even though I didn’t have the best first Mother’s Day (thanks to a very hungover Steve – I’ve forgiven him don’t worry), I want to make this day the most special I can for him. With that in mind, I thought I’d write this post just to show what I’m doing for Father’s Day this year and to give you guys a few ideas too.
I’m a massive fan of making things for events like Father’s Day, Birthdays and Christmas and with the help of my cousin, this year I’ve made hand-made cards for not only Steve but Madison’s Grandads too. I love the personal touch and they are super easy to make (easy if your child keeps her feet still*). For obvious reasons, I’m not putting photos in of the actual cards that they’re getting but here are a few cool ideas that I found on Pinterest!
For Steve’s presents from Madison I’ve tried to keep it a bit sentimental and bought a gorgeous 1st Father’s Day frame from My 1st Years – but for some reason I can’t seem to find it online right now! It’s customisable to say ‘Madison and Daddy’ and I’ve put in one of my favourite pictures of Steve and Madison from when we were in Cyprus earlier this year. It also comes with an ink pad kit for a hand print which I still need to do before the weekend! Eep! (Don’t worry I’ve told Steve he can’t read this post yet).
I’ve also gotten him and my Dad a ‘few nice smellies’ (as my Mum would call them) from both Madison and I. My dad loves it when I treat him to a new aftershave and so this one from Azzaro is just perfect. Azzaro Chrome is a ‘fragrance of pure escapism with timeless freshness’ that to me, has a beautiful aquatic musky scent. It smells fresh and ever so slightly woody with a citrusy hint and is the perfect fragrance for my Dad. At £44 for 100ml and a free wash bag for Father’s Day this Eau De Toilette is a great buy for either your Dad or on behalf of your scrummy little one to theirs!
This L’Occitane Grooming Routine on the Go is the gift of choice for Steve this Father’s Day (from Madison of course) and is perfect him. He’s definitely gotten more into his skincare since we’ve been together and loves it when I can get new bits for him to try (although I will totally be nabbing the shampoo out of this as it’s my fave!). This little travel bag full of fab mini’s is just £20 and is perfect for a man on the go. Although we don’t go away too much, Steve sometimes has to stay away with work and so this is a great gift for him – luxury and practical. This comes with a small wash bag, shampoo, shower gel, shaving gel, soap and facial moisturiser known to be some of L’Occitane’s best sellers. Its such a great and inexpensive gift that I think he’ll love as a little extra to the personalised frame!
Have you got any great ideas for Father’s Day? I’d love to know if you have any different craft ideas for other holiday’s such as Christmas and Birthdays! I don’t know what’s wrong with me but ever since I’ve had Madison all I want to do is craft!! You can find all of my parenting posts here!
