A new skincare release is just what I needed and Ladies, the L’Occitane Aqua Réotier range has not disappointed. From the gorgeous teal and silver packaging, to the sublime fragrancing and the actual products themselves, this whole range just screams ‘fresh’ and honestly, what more do you want from a skincare line than that? I’ve been trialling these products from the range for just over two months now and I can tell you with absolute certainty that it’s one of the best new product launches I’ve tried in quite some time.
I’m going to start off with the Aqua Réotier Gel Cleanser, because I’ve been using this every day since I received these beautiful products in the post and I just cannot get enough of it. The scent is gorgeous and perfectly portrays how the product makes me and my skin feel; without sounding really stupid, to me it smells like a sea breeze and I love it! I have been using this twice a day and love how luxurious it feels against my skin; I’m definitely more of a cleansing exfoliant kind of girl usually but this has 100% changed my mind on what can be best for my skin. This cleanser has a silky gel formulation which when mixed with a little water creates a gorgeous, almost creamy/foamy lather which glides over your face and honestly just feels really nice. It easily washes off with a splash of water and leaves my face feeling clean and fresh. Over the past two months I’ve used this religiously every day, twice a day and I have seen a dramatic improvement in my skin and in more way than one. Firstly, I usually have to use quite a lot of moisturiser to keep certain areas of my face hydrated, such as around my nose and on my chin and with using this, I’ve found that the hydrating properties have meant I haven’t had to lather on as much moisturiser. I haven’t had dry patches as such, even when I’ve been using my intensive herbal spot cleanser from Kiehl’s (which always drys my skin out like crazy). Secondly I have had really bad skin on my chin and around my mouth for about three months now and since using the Aqua Réotier Gel Cleanser these have cleared up drastically!
Another amazing product from this range is one I didn’t think I ‘d get much use out of; the Aqua Réotier moisture prep essence has been a godsend to me though when I’ve needed that additional boost of hydration in my skin before applying makeup, without it being overly slick like a normal moisturiser. Honestly, I don’t know if I’m using this properly or not, but this is what I’ve been using it for and I’ve been loving it! I’ve been using it under my primer and leaving it for around 30 seconds to dry before popping the rest of my makeup on – I’ve noticed a massive difference in how little my face is now drying up during the day!
A product that so far I’ve not had much use of is the Aqua Réotier Fresh Moisturising Mist so I’m just going to say a few words on it right now. It’s basically a cooling, hydrating mist for use throughout the day and I can see this coming in handy during those scorching days we get here in the UK Summer. I really struggle on days like that and this is going to be amazing for me!
Last up are two different formulation moisturisers; one is a gorgeous cream whilst the other has a gel finish. Personally, I’ve never really got on with Gel Moisturisers and I do massively prefer the cream version in this collection – but that’s just personal preference. The hydration you get from theAqua Réotier gel moisturiser is insane and really lovely, but sadly I just hate the feel of a gel moisturiser! The aqua réotier cream moisturiser however has become my new holy grail; I have not loved a moisturiser like this in ages and I’ve started using it every morning after I’ve done my morning cleanse. It’s everything I want in a moisturiser and is SO hydrating to my skin. I’ve barely had to use any of the product – a little really does go a long way here!
Have you tried the new Aqua Réotire range yet? Is there anything that stood out to you?
