SnüzPouch; the only sleeping bag my daughter will sleep in & why we love it too!

When I was first contacted about working with Snüz on their new launch The SnüzPouch I was initially a little sceptical. I’d heard so many great things about sleeping bags for babies but with the way things were going (with Madison sleeping so well in her Moses basket with just blankets) I didn’t know whether or not I wanted to make the switch to a sleeping bag and risk her not sleeping through the night. If you’ve read my 4 month update on Madison then you’ll know that since around the six week mark she’s been sleeping around 11 hours a night (give or take a week or two of her being poorly) and to change that up really made me quite anxious. It was all clearly completely irrational anxiety though because as soon as we switched Madison over into her big girls cot-bed and put her into her SnüzPouch for the first time it was as if nothing had changed.

The SnüzPouch that we have is in a gorgeous grey cloud pattern and is suitable for ages 0-6 months and I’m most definitely going to have to buy the next size up when she grows out of it. Whenever we have a pooey accident or she’s sick down it and we have to switch her half way through the night she never sleeps as well in the other sleeping bags we have from the likes of Sainsburys and other similar cheaper brands. The quality just doesn’t seem to be the same and with the SnüzPouch being so thin yet still so warm for her, it definitely seems to be something she’s noticing when we have to change her. In the SnüzPouch she also has so much room to kick around in and even though she’s only just 5 months old, she is quite big and long for her age and even with that in mind, she still has plenty of room to kick around in and feel comfortable. Again, I think this is definitely another plus for the Snu2zPouch because within other sleeping bags that we’ve tried Madison in, there just isn’t any extra room and apparently that’s what our little fidget likes!

In terms of changing Madison through the night, it’s not actually something we tend to do. Even when she was younger we never woke her up in the night for a feed. For the first few weeks she’d wake once or twice in the night for a bottle and we’d change her but since she started sleeping through we didn’t think it necessary (or sane) to wake her for a feed or a change. The nappies we’re using are bloody marvellous and even after an 11 hour sleep they’ve never yet broken on us or not been able to withhold the contents Madison so kindly produces! For this reason I never really thought the changing zip on the SnüzPouch would be all that convenient for us but since she’s had a bit of a poorly spell and that 4 month sleep regression hit I’ve found it to be an absolute saviour! As you can see from my images, the zip is positioned perfectly for a quick change without waking her up fully if she’s still in that dreamy state or upsetting her too much if she’s really hungry. I can imagine for parents who are up multiple times in the night, this would be a lifesaver!

Overall I just couldn’t recommend the SnüzPouch enough and at a starting price of £34.95 I really don’t think you can go wrong! Snüz have designed the pouches with so much consideration to parents and babies and with perks for both parties I think it’s going to be one of the new winners of the baby sleeping bag market. You can pick yours up on the Snüz website or at John Lewis.
