For years now I have wanted to try out one of the infamous GlamGlow face masks. If you’re a beauty blogger you’ll know that as far as high end skincare goes, GlamGlow is one of the most coveted amongst us. With metallic mud masks that (apparently) work wonders and collections with no other than Sonic the Hedgehog as their mascot, little is left to the imagination and so when I recently found them in my local discount beauty store, I had to pick a few bits up to try!
Apart from the face masks the GlamGlow moisturisers are the next best thing that I’ve heard that the brand are pretty darn good at and so when I saw the Glowstarter Moisturiser available for just £27 down from £36 I knew I had to pick it up and give it a go. I don’t know about you lot but when I see the words ‘mega illuminating’ describing a moisturiser I get a little excited; it doesn’t take a lot to impress me with fancy words like that! Of course, being a massive love of a glowy, dewy look anything illuminating is going to catch my eye, but do they ever really work?
First impressions in the store were a massive ‘yes’; I sampled the Glowstarter moisturiser on the back of my hand and instantly the pearlescent sheen of it wowed me. I know it’s a really well loved moisturiser and all that but the proof really is in the pudding and people were not lying when they raved about this one. One thing that has slightly disappointed me with it is that it’s not the most moisturising cream I’ve ever come across; my face has been pretty dry recently (who’s hasn’t with this blisteringly cold weather) and has been really sucking up every ounce of moisturiser I’ve been applying. With the Glowstarter being fab for giving me a glowy look, I haven’t been too mad but it has literally been absorbed so quickly by my skin it’s unreal. I don’t want to give it too bad a marks for that though as I think it’s just circumstantial and hopefully because my skin’s loving it so much, it really is doing it’s job and making my skin more moisturised. It leaves a slightly tacky feel to my face after applying it but that only sticks around for a couple of minutes and it smells absolutely divine. I’m not even sure what the smell is really but it’s a little unusual and bloody gorgeous!
The second item I purchased was the highly talked about metallic blue (?!?) Sonic the Hedgehog GravityMud Purifying Treatment mask and at £10 at the outlet I couldn’t really say no to this little tube. Having never tried a GravityMud face mask before and having heard sooooo much about them I was absolutely buzzing my tits off to give it a go! On first impressions it was a really sticky consistency and actually really nice and easy to apply. I was pretty chuffed that I’d remembered to apply it with my The Body Shop face mask brush though as it was pretty difficult to wash off. Yes, it is supposed to be a peel off mask, but I apply such a thin layer to get the most out of it, that it’s incredibly difficult to peel off and a good ol’ flannel and hot water scrub was what it really needed! The Sonic Gravitymud mask is one of the best peel off masks I’ve tried in a long time; it really dug deep and cleared my skin up really well. It broke me out with a couple of blemishes, but after a good purifying mask like this, it’s kind of what I expected. I am known for being really picky with my face masks and I have to say, this one is definitely up there with my Origins clay mask – and you all know how much I love that bad boy!
After only around a month or two’s use of these two products from GlamGlow I’ve been incredibly impressed and am already researching for the next product I should buy (any recommendations welcome). I always thought the brand would be one of those that was extremely over priced and only hyped about because it was on the pricier end of the spectrum, but honestly these products have really wowed me and I really understand the buzz now. I don’t think I’d pay full price for these because honestly as good as they are, I ain’t made of money! But if I happen to see them again at my local Discount Beauty store then I’d definitely pick them or something else from the brand up again!
I really want to give that moisturiser a go. I’ve heard so many good things and I love what I’ve tried from glamglow so far xx

I’ve always been reluctant to purchase this brand because lets face it, they’re hella’ pricey. But this review was great & made me think about buying something from them again. They sound like they’re worth it!
