Throughout the first 19 years of my life I never touched my eyebrows. Looking back at photos now I wish someone had said something to me – strike that: I wish I could go back in time and tell myself how bad they looked! When I was in year 9 or something like that I remember one of the more ‘popular’ girls coming up to me in line for Science and asking me what I did to my brows and after I naively said “nothing” and she looked impressed, I didn’t think I needed to touch them ever again. This was at a point in my life where I didn’t wear makeup and although that little snippet of my memory is beyond random, when I did start venturing into the world of makeup and brows became a ‘thing’ I still thought I didn’t need to do anything to them. Skip forward 8 or 9 years and I can’t imagine doing nothing with them. Leave them for more than three weeks and they look as unruly as ever!! So since my lessons have been learnt and I’ve learnt how to tame and perfect my brows, I thought I’d share my four favourite brow products for creating my perfect look.
Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer
Also an all time favourite of mine for brightening my under eye before I apply my foundation, the Boi-ing Brightening Concealer from Benefit is the tool of choice for carving out my brows. I usually do this after I’ve perfected my look to tidy it all up, but sometimes also use it as a base to cover any pesky spots or unwanted hairs. On a small angled brush this is one of my brow products of choice for finishing up the perfect brow and is the only product I use to keep my brow’s shape in check.
Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer is available for £17.50
Benefit Gimme Brow
Having been a massive Benefit fan from day dot, when Gimme Brow was first launched I obviously had to try it out. Long story short it stole my heart in multiple ways and changed my brow game forever. Even on my laziest of days Gimme Brow sorts my brows out and makes them look somewhat respectable and groomed. I use the shade 3 (originally shade medium) and combing the smallest amount of this through my brows tames them just the way I like them and makes them stay put all day. This on top of either of my other favourites below from Anastasia and you have yourself an absolute winner! I must say though, I do hate paying £20 for this tiny tube and although it does go an awfully long way, for a while I did try out some cheaper alternatives. Let me tell you now though gals (or lads) nothing even comes close to comparing to this product and it is well worth the pennies.
Benefit Gimme Brow is available for £20.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
This is one of the first high end pencil brow products I properly invested in after trying a couple of cheaper alternatives and not getting very far with them. I’d seen so many brow products like this that I tried out first which were at a slightly lower price point but when it comes down to it, I’ve learnt that you really can’t skimp on quality. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is one of the thinnest and most precise brow pens I’ve found and is certainly the best at it’s job. For £15 it’s not something I use all of the time as it doesn’t last all that long if you’re using it every day, but with use on my ‘lazier’ brow days this and Gimme Brow are my absolutely go-to’s for a gorgeously defined brow. I honestly wouldn’t go back to any other brow pencil.
ABH Brow Wiz is available for £15.50
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
When it comes to Dipbrow I was meggaaaaa late to the bandwagon and since jumping onboard I’ve never wanted to jump back off. ABH’s Dipbrow came into my life around four or five months ago and even though I’m still quite the newbie with using this product it has 100% changed the way I achieve my brows on a daily basis. I use this baby with a tiny angled Morphe liner brush and apply the smallest amount of product to line and fill in my eyebrows. It’s such an easy product to work with and really lasts the whole day. I even had a friend properly do my brows with this once and loved them so much that I took every bit of makeup off but my eyebrows and kept them good to go for the next day too and they did not budge! Safe to say that was before I’d purchased this myself! I thought this was a massively over-hyped product before I’d tried it and boy was I wrong; this product has definitely changed the way that I do my brows and I will forever repurchase it – especially with the amazing price tag it has!
ABH Dipbrow Pomade is available for £15
