Boots Haul

So, If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Twitter recently, then you will know that I went a little bit crazy in Boots the other day. You all know how it is, popping in to Boots (or any drugstore for that matter) is never just a ‘pop in’. I was in there for a good half hour, swatching lipsticks etc – my poor Nan was with me and I don’t think she could grasp just how much longer I could’ve stayed in there if she wasn’t with me (thankfully she was, otherwise I would have no money left). I even had to run back in after we’d left to pick up a few essentials, which were the things I’d originally gone in for! Typical Beky!

Now, even though I live at home with my parents and younger sister, I ALWAYS buy my own Shampoo and Conditioner. Reason? Well, my sister goes through these products like there’s no tomorrow and so my lovely mother has stopped buying the more expensive brands and has resorted to ‘own brand’ versions to teach her a lesson. Sadly for me, this means reaching into my own pile of pennies and saving my hair from the disaster that is own branded products. I normally mix-up my shampoo and conditioners, I find that using the same products on my hair wash after wash isn’t always good for it and so buy a different brand every time and kind of rotate them , if you will, every so often. This week I decided to opt for something completely  new to me – I’ve never even heard of this brand before! The Trevor Sorbie shampoo and conditioner from the ‘Straight’ collection. I have naturally straight hair and thought these would be something nice to try to see if they made any difference with the ‘kinks and (occassional) waves’ that I sometimes get. I haven’t tried these yet, but I’ll let you know how I get on.

Next are the ‘essentials’ that I had to run back in for. Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Daily Scrub. I absolutely adore this product. I use a daily facial scrub everyday before going to bed, just after I’ve removed my makeup. I find that it really does do wonders for my skin, making it feel nice and fresh after application and I really have noticed a difference in the amount of blemishes and spots I get since beginning to use it. I actually haven’t used this product for the last couple weeks as I left my original tube at a friends Uni (silly me!) and so have been using ‘Nutrogena Visibly Clear grapefruit daily scrub’ instead, just to save myself some pennies and use what I already had – this will be in an ’empties’ post soon (hopefully).

I also count the Simple Kind to Skin makeup removing wipes as an ‘essential’. They are the makeup wipes that I repurchase every single time a pack runs out – in fact, as you can tell, I have two packs here. I tend to buy these whenever they are on offer and stock up on them as I use them so often and they can get expensive at £3.25 a pack. Boots had a ‘3 for 2’ offer on all of their skincare products when I went in and so I bought all three of these products together! Bargain!

Boots also had an offer on their Rimmel products, which of course, I took full advantage of. By spending over £10 on their Moisture Renew Lipstick in 360 ‘As you want Victoria’ and their Eye Definer Retractable eyeliner pen in black, I was able to get their Scandaleyes LycraFlex Mascara in Black for free. If you’re any kind of regular human being, you’ll know never to turn down anything free! I am a HUGE fan of Rimmel products and have just been amazed by how lovely this new lipstick is. It’s so soft and creamy and although the shade I bought isn’t so much of an ‘everyday’ wearable colour for me as it is an evening / special occassions one, I am massively in love with the formula and lipstick in itself and am going to just have to go and by a few more colours!

As my birthday is coming up (31st October/Halloween, for any of you interested) my lovely Nan decided to buy me an early birthday gift. I’d been debating with myself so much over buying these Real Techniques brushes that she gave in and gave me the money for them (I still got my advantage points – YAY!) I haven’t tried them out thus far, but I’m sure I’m going to love them just as much as my other ones review here.

Now, these items aren’t from boots, but I just couldn’t help myslef from buying this months Cosmo mag and a MASSIVE bar of choccie for myself. Don’t worry – I didn’t eat it all at once!

It definitely is a really good product! I can't wait to get back using it as I find the Neutrogena one I'm currently using just isn't as good, but I'm determined to finish the pack! I love the moisture renew lipsticks too, however after a couple hours wear I am starting to find them white drying on my lips 🙁 xx

You got a lot of fun stuff didn't you. I can just imagine how many more things you could have found that got your attention while you were in there. Some stores have a knack for getting you to shop because they always have nice stuff.
