Lifestyle | My Blogging Setup

For a while now, I have not been happy with how my blogging setup has been. It’s always just been that little bit off of perfect and I think that’s mostly because I’ve had to move it around quite a lot. To begin with it was in my room but the lighting is so shoddy (my window is blocked by another house), then it was in the spare room (which was so close to perfect) but then my Auntie moved in and as my sister went to Uni, that became her room. Eventually it was in my hallway on the top of a wooden dresser but it just wasn’t practical. I was almost at the point of desperation and then it clicked and I decided to move my whole setup to my boyfriends flat. He has a spare room that just fills with light and I think I am now finally happy with it all.

I have the  Malm Ikea dressing table for my blogging; I love the slick white and glass top and the fact that it has a long, deep drawer and it slots perfectly into the corner of his spare room. I currently also use this as my makeup station when I’m at his house, so within the drawer I have my extra stash of makeup and skincare in a little drawer insert from Ikea. On the top, we have a couple more Ikea bits; the lantern on the left hand side and my makeup brush holder on the right, which is actually candle holder (I think). My Fairy lights are in the shape of hearts and are just some I picked up on amazon a while back. I absolutely love my fake flowers which are stuck in their jar so that it looks like they’re in water, these are from Next and I think you can get them in a couple of different colours. They were £8 when I bought them  but I think the cheeky so-and-so’s have upped them to £10 since! I also have this lovely wire basket with heart shaped detailing, which I think I got for around £5 from the Sainsbury’s bathroom section and then my heart shaped plate which was £3 from Wilkinsons! I think I’ve got a heart shaped obsession that I didn’t quite know about… Finally my mirror is the double sided illuminated mirror from No7 in Boots.

I love the Ikea dressing tables! I toyed with the idea of getting one but went for a vintage one instead. They just look so practical though! xx

I've been looking at dressing tables for a while now and think I have finally settled on the Malm from Ikea. I do like the vintage style dressing tables but I think a more modern and sleek one would be a better option. I'm hoping to get one next weekend…I'm quite excited now!

Such a pretty set up! One thing that's got me out of love with my blog is my photography, I don't have the greatest set up but I don't have anywhere else to do my photos…Though a new desk soon would be lovely and I may just think about this one!
